Educated at the University of Valencia (B.A.), the Harvard Kennedy School (MPP), and the University of Duisburg-Essen (Ph.D.), Stuenkel brings a rich transnational perspective to his analysis. His research focuses on rising powers (particularly Brazil, India, and China) and their influence on the evolving global order.
He is the author of influential works such as IBSA: The Rise of the Global South? (2014), BRICS and the Future of Global Order (2015), and Post-Western World (2016), all of which have shaped debates on multipolarity and global governance.
A prolific op-ed writer and media commentator, Stuenkel regularly contributes to Foreign Affairs, Foreign Policy, New York Times, Financial Times, and Americas Quarterly. His insights blend academic rigor with real-world applicability, especially in geopolitical risk, strategy, and global economic dynamics.
