REUBEN ABRAHAM

Professor and Executive Director of the Indian School of Business Centre for Emerging Markets Solutions



Reuben Abraham, expert on economic development of emerging markets, is Professor and Executive Director of the Indian School of Business Centre for Emerging Markets Solutions.

He also serves on the board of the Soros Economic Development Fund which aims to catalyze growth in emerging markets. With the help of Google and the Omidyar Network, Reuben helped to create a unique India-focused early stage fund for small and medium-sized enterprises.

He is a member of the Clinton Global Initiative, a TED fellow, and an adviser to several companies and start-ups worldwide. He has served as consultant for the World Bank and as researcher for Columbia University, and used to be a fellow of Columbia's Council on Foreign Relations, a fellow of the Public Policy Consortium, and a fellow of the Sloan Foundation.

Reuben Abraham holds a MA, M.Phil and Ph.D from Columbia University. For his doctoral research, he looked at the relationship between telecommunications -especially mobile- and economic development. He was honored as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum (2009).
