Founder and Managing Director of The Chasm Group, Geoffrey's area of expertise deals with a set of management or investor challenges posed by fast-changing, technology-enabled markets.
Geoffrey is a Venture Partner at Mohr Davidow, providing strategy advice and consulting services across its entire portfolio of early-stage investments. He divides his time between consulting on strategy and transformation challenges and developing mental models to support this practice.
Prior to founding The Chasm Group in 1992, Geoffrey was partner at Regis McKenna Inc, a leading high-tech marketing strategy and communications company. He was also a sales and marketing executive at three different software companies. Geoffrey's current and past clients include Cisco Systems, Oracle, Microsoft, Agilent Technologies, Symbol Technologies, Hewlett-Packard, BEA, Lawson Software, and Synopsis.
He is the author of "Crossing the Chasm", "Inside the Tornado", "The Gorilla Game" (with co-authors Tom Kippola and Paul Johnson), and most recently "Living on the Fault Line". He is a frequent contributor to business journals and speaker at industry conferences.
Geoffrey holds a bachelor's degree from Stanford University and a Ph.D from the University of Washington, both in literature, and served as an English Professor at Olivet College. He is a frequent speaker and lecturer at industry conferences, and his books are required reading at Stanford, Harvard, MIT and other leading business schools.
