ZAID HASSAN

CEO and Co-Founder of Roller Strategies, author of "The Social Labs Revolution: A new approach to solving our most complex challenges"



Zaid is a strategist, facilitator and writer who is passionate about bridging divides. His work is focused on supporting individuals, communities and institutions who recognize that new approaches are needed in order to shift contemporary intractable situations. He has worked on issues such as agriculture, climate change, education, energy, financial systems, malnutrition, public healthcare, security, sustainable development, and youth issues.

He is CEO and Co-Founder of Roller Strategies. He is also a Co-Founder of Reos Partners, an international enterprise that helps businesses, governments, and civil society organisations address complex social challenges.

Zaid has extensive experience in developing strategic responses to complex challenges and serves as strategic advisor to a number of organisations. He has experience working with governments, civil society and corporations. Recent clients include The World Bank, The UN Foundation, Oxfam, GIZ, the Governments of New Zealand and Canada.

Over the last few years he has worked on catalysing innovative responses to a wide range of issues, from financial systems, to agriculture and climate change. He has worked across the world in Europe, North America, the Middle East, Asia and Latin America.

Zaid regularly teaches courses on how to address complex challenges. He is a Visiting Professor at the California College of Arts (CCA). He has guest lectured at The University of Oxford, The University of Bergen, Norway, The New School in New York and many more institutions. Over 2009-10 he was an Associate Fellow of The Institute of Science, Innovation and Society, at the Said Business School, based at the University of Oxford. He is currently a Social Innovation Fellow at Babson College.

He rides a single-speed (non-fixie) Genesis bike that is the colour of a sunset. He lives in Oxford. He has a seven year old son who wants to know why we ask questions.
